During my scripture or devotional readings, I sometimes circle two words. Two words to meditate on. Two words to imprint on my heart. Two words to do.
I’ve decided to try something new on my blog: “Two Do Tuesday.” I’ll post two little words (with big meanings) and the corresponding scripture reference(s). Unless noted, the verses will come from the New International Version.
I’m starting with “stand firm,” because those are the two words I’ve needed the last few weeks.
Ephesians 6:13-17 ~ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
1 Corinthians 15:58 ~ Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Stand firm.
