Two Do Tuesday: Teach Me.

Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11

Today marks my twenty-fifth first day of school as a teacher. My number one academic goal for students is that they become lifelong learners, transferring classroom-acquired abilities to real life situations and continuing to grow in skills and knowledge.

Being a lifelong learner applies to spiritual lives as well, and the older I get, the more I realize how much I still need to learn spiritually. Thankfully, I have a great teacher:

This is what the Lord says—
    your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
    who teaches you what is best for you,
    who directs you in the way you should go.”
Isaiah 48:17

The earth is filled with your love, Lord;

teach me your decrees. Psalm 119:64

Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
    for I trust your commands.
Psalm 119:66

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:10
